Golf Meetings and Merchandise, Spring. 01 Case Study

"To
publicize the event, the group developed its first golf Web site
(www.sitefoundationgolf.org). The Web site provides detailed information
on the Golf invitationaland also helps with information collection.
"Over the next couple of years, the Web site will be our saving
grace," Katusak said. "It's an easy way to collect information.
It is primarily a communication vehicle about auction items, activities,
etc. It really serves three purposes: communication, getting people
excited about the tournament, and administration."
The
Web site has also helped the Foundation manage some of the challanges
of organizing a double tournament. For example, information collection
on the Web is making the administrative process easier. It is also
building publicity for the silent and live auctions. Prizes, which
focus primarily on travel, are listed on the Web site. For the first
time, non-attendees will be able to bid on prizes online."
